In February 2019, a recognized Yiddish singer Sasha Lurje and violinist Craig Judelman organized the first Seattle Yiddish Fest with three days of jams, concerts, and workshops in Yiddish song, dance and klezmer music.
Joined by their colleagues Ilya Shneyveys and Mark Rubin, the festival turned out to be a success, and they decided to do it again in Seattle. Since Seattle is becoming a new capital for Yiddish arts with a vibrant community, Yiddish classes, Yiddish music bands, etc., the festival is aimed to deepen the knowledge of Yiddish culture for those who are familiar with it and also be an introduction to those, who are looking to learn new things.
The plans for 2020 are almost laid out, and we are looking forward to sharing them with you very soon! Meanwhile, feel free to get in touch with us to learn more or if you want to get involved with organizing!
See you at Seattle Yiddish Fest 2020!
